Sterling Design System
I led the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Sterling’s UX Design Library, evolving it from a basic bootstrap library to a fully realized Figma system. Built with an atomic component approach, the library streamlined workflows, improved consistency across products, and ensured accessibility best practices. I worked closely with designers, engineers, and product teams to refine components, support adoption, and align the system with evolving business needs. By establishing clear governance and documentation, I helped create a scalable, adaptable foundation for Sterling’s design ecosystem.

-
Led the migration from Sketch to Figma, creating a scalable, well-structured component system that made designing faster and more consistent.
-
Established guidelines and governance to keep the design system clean, accessible, and easy to use across teams.
-
Partnered with engineers to ensure smooth handoffs, translating Figma components into Storybook code-ready assets and keeping everything in sync.
-
Wrote documentation, best practices, and usage guides to help designers quickly get up to speed and make the most of the library.
-
Prioritized accessibility, making sure our components met industry standards and worked well for all users.
-
Collaborated live and ran workshops to answer questions, troubleshoot, and help designer team members use the system more effectively.
